Pesta 2006

One of the biggest events that is unique to the BB in Malaysia is the Pesta and Convention. It is basically a national camp where Members come together for competitions, meetings and fellowship. The first Pesta was held in 1966 as the first National Review and Display in Kuala Lumpur. The idea then grew on to become a biennial event that was subsequently held twelve times. For many, the Pesta stands out as one of the most memorable events.

The next Pesta will be held in Kuala Lumpur, 2006.

About the Book of Wong

The Book Of Wong Blog

The Book of Wong is the personal online bulletin board of Officer Wong of the 1st Kuala Lumpur Boys' Brigade Company. Here, you will find various musings, information, announcements, updates and resources related to Officer Wong's BB ministry. This would also include personal announcements concerning activities or awards (like resources or results) that he is involved with.

Please note that this is not an official website of the 1st Kuala Lumpur Boys' Brigade Company (Click here for 1st KL BB Official Website). Unless otherwise stated, in the case of any inconsistencies between postings on The Book of Wong and that of 1st Kuala Lumpur BB Company's official communiques (memos, announcements, official website updates, etc.), The Book of Wong will err on the side of the 1st KL BB Company.

Again: This is the personal blog of Officer Wong. Hence, all postings here are made in Officer Wong's personal capacity and cannot be regarded as official positions of the 1st Kuala Lumpur Boys' Brigade Company, Wesley Methodist Church KL or the Boys' Brigade of Malaysia.

Why "The Book Of Wong Blog"?

The Book of Wong started as a long-running private joke between Officer Wong and a few of his Boys. It eventually took a life of its own, eventually introducing one chapter, consisting of two verses:
The Book of Wong
Chapter 1
Verse 1: You shall always obey Mr. Wong cheerfully and quickly, now and forever.
Verse 2: Resistance is futile.

Who Is Officer Wong?

Officer Wong has been a long-serving Member of the 1st Kuala Lumpur Boys' Brigade since he joined in 1991. He rose through the ranks and achieved the two highest awards in the Boys Brigade in Malaysia - the President's Award and the Founder's Award - to finally becoming an Officer today. His interest is in the character, spiritual and leadership development of the Boys under his charge.

Officer Wong is also the author of Beyond Blues - an inspirational introspective about Life and the Boys' Brigade... going Beyond the Blues - which he writes for the Boys' Brigade in Malaysia. You can either read his articles at MyBBKul, the official BBM webzine or at the Beyond Blues Blog.

Out of uniform, Officer Wong is as a consultant in the field of marketing communications and an avid reader. If you'd like to get to know Officer Wong better, he would be delighted if you would drop by to say "Hello" during 1st KL meetings. Otherwise, you can also find out how to contact him here.
